ในรูปที่แนบมา แมลงปอกำลังทำอะไรกันค่ะ เป็นการผสมพันธุ์กันหรือเปล่า? หรือว่ากำลังต่อสู้กัน?

อีกอย่าง วันก่อนไปกำแพงแสน ระหว่างจอดดูนก เห็นแมลงปอ 2 ตัว ทำท่าเหมือนในรูปที่แนบมา พอไม่กี่อึดใจมีแมลงปอ 1 ตัว (จากที่เกาะกันอยู่ 2ตัวเมื่อกี้) บินเข้ามาในรถ แต่ไม่มีหัว O_O ถ้าต่อสู้กันนี่แสดงว่าโหดมากเลย :(

ในภาพเป็นแมลงปอบ้านใต้ขายาว Trithemis pallidinervis ตัวผู้ (ตัวบน) กำลังล็อกคอตัวเมีย (ตัวล่าง) ที่มันหมายตาไว้ครับ ลักษณะดังกล่าวเรียกว่า in tandem เป็นพฤติกรรมที่เกิดขึ้นก่อนที่จะมีการผสมพันธุ์ครับ ถ้าตัวเมียยอมตกลงปลงใจด้วย ตัวเมียก็จะงอท้องขึ้นไปรับน้ำเชื้อที่่โคนท้องของตัวผู้ ซึ่งทำให้มีลักษณะเหมือนกับหัวใจหรือวงล้อที่เรียกว่า wheel position ครับ

จากข้อมูลที่บอกว่าบินมาที่รถแบบไม่มีหัว อาจเกิดจากโดนสัตว์นักล่าโฉบหัวไปกินก็ได้ครับ เพื่อนกับผมก็เคยเจอกรณีคล้ายกันนี้อยู่เหมือนกัน โดยที่ตอนนั้นเป็นแมลงปอเข็มที่ตัวผู้เกาะตัวเมียที่กำลังวางไข่ (หลังจากผสมพันธุ์เสร็จแล้ว การที่ตัวผู้เกาะตัวเมียไว้แบบนั้นก็เพื่อป้องกันไม่ให้ตัวผู้ตัวอื่นมาจับตัวเมียไปผสมพันธุ์อีกรอบ) ระหว่างนั้น ก็มีแมลงปอขนาดใหญ่บินโฉบเอาหัวไปกิน ปล่อยให้ส่วนอกและท้องของตัวผู้ตัวนั้นเกาะติดอยู่กับตัวเมียเหมือนเดิมครับ
