Rhacophorus vampyrus — A new tree frog from southern Vietnam [Open Access on Zootaxa]

Rhacophorus vampyrus Rowley, Le, Tran, Stuart & Hoang 2010

• ปาดชนิดใหม่จากป่าเมฆทางตอนใต้ของเวียดนาม
• ทำรังโฟมเพื่อวางไข่ในโพรงต้นไม้ (phytotelm breeder)
• ชื่อปาดแวมไพร์ (Vampire Flying Frog, P. vampyrus) ได้จากลักษณะของลูกอ๊อดที่มีฟันคล้าย เขี้ยว 2 คู่ที่ใต้ริมฝีปากบน

Diagnosis
Rhacophorus vampyrus is distinguished from all other Rhacophorus in mainland Southeast Asia by a combination of:

1. pale tan to brick red dorsum
2. white throat, chest and belly
3. mostly black flanks and anterior and posterior surface of thighs
4. grey to black webbing between fingers and toes
5. reduced finger webbing
6. pointed projection at tibiotarsal articulation
